opposites attract in the city of brotherly love...

Well it's that time of year already - getting ready for back to school! Speaking of that, I had the enjoyment of going to Philadelphia with my son for his orientation at Drexel University, where he'll start in September. Yikes, it'll be here before we know it!

I also had a fun time checking out a few places
with neat architecture, both past and present.

This is the Main Building on the Drexel campus.
It's from the late 1800s, when the school was founded,
and has all of this gorgeous marble,
arches, statues and a huge skylight in it!
I saw this building
when we toured the campus several months ago,
and loved the elegant look of it,
but didn't take any photos.
So this time I did, to share them with you!
Do you ever feel like this when you get so busy -
as if you're running around with your head chopped off? Lol

On the totally opposite end of the design spectrum,
is this two story restaurant where we ate brunch,
The Continental Mid-town,
which has a funky, modern, retro look to it,
reminding me of Swinger's in Santa Monica.
I only took a couple of photos, because I didn't want
to look like either a tourist or a stalker -
and I was really embarrassing my son!

I'll check out more places when I go back in September. So if you have any suggestions of cool architectural places to visit, please let me know! And...

... come along for the ride!
